Records continue to tumble for California’s table grape industry, with more than 27.7m cartons shipped worldwide from 13 October to 30 November.
The figure is the highest ever for this time period, according to data from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), eclipsing the previous record set in 2013.
Earlier this season, the five-week shipping record for the time period between 8 September and 12 October was broken.
The three-month period of 1 September to 30 November set another record, with over 55m cartons of grapes shipped.
Kathleen Nave, president of the California Table Grape Commission, said promotions would continue over autumn and winter, with shipments expected to run through until the end of January.
