Murcian grower-exporter association Proexport has signed a deal with CaixaBank securing access to credit and financial services at a discounted rate for its member companies.
The agreement, which is expected to benefit more than 20,000 workers in the region’s fresh produce industry, includes favourable terms on capital financing, advances on grants and easier access to loans for new farm equipment.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday by Bibiano Martínez, regional director of CaixaBank for Levante and Murcia, and Proexport’s president Juan Marín.
“CaixaBank offers a value proposition for Murcia’s fresh produce industry, complemented by our AgroBank programme which provides a catalogue of specific solutions for the sector, a professional team of staff dedicated to the agricultural sector,” Martínez said. “All these initiatives strengthen the support we offer the industry, which is so vital in generating wealth and employment to the local economy.
Bravo said the deal was “one more example of the steps being taken by the association to boost the economic activity of our member companies in today’s competitive export environment”.
