Christian Weseloh is to take over from Karl Schmitz as managing director of BVEO, Germany's Union of Fruit and Vegetable Producer Organisations, it has been announced.
Weseloh, currently managing director of both the German potato trade association DKHV and Unika, the German Union of German Potato Companies, will succeed Schmitz from 1 July onwards.
BVEO continues to play a key role in promoting the fresh produce business in Germany, most recently through the formation of a new export association called German Fruit, Vegetables and Horticultural Products (GFV).
The move followed last year's decision to close the country's central marketing organisation for fresh fruit and vegetables, CMA.
