It has been reported this week that Armin Burger, the man who stepped into the departed Paul Foley's shoes at Aldi's UK operation in August, has left the group.
Mr Burger, who was brought in from his role as chief executive officer at Aldi Austria to replace Mr Foley, departed the Germany-based discount retailer last week, Marketing Week reported.
He leaves the company after a 20-year spell that saw him work in a number of different areas, including Austria, Hungary, Greece, Switzerland and Slovenia.
In October, Aldi moved to appoint Matthew Barnes, head of buying for the group's Australian sector, as the new managing director for UK operations.
