There is set to be a strong focus on branding at this year's Alimentaria event, which takes place in Barcelona, Spain at the end of March, with the results of a special study on brand value to be released for the first time at the event.
The report, entitled 'What does the consumer expect from a brand these days? The role of the manufacturer as brand manager', has been compiled by consulting firm Synovate and will be presented on 23 March at the show.
Opened by the minister of environment, rural and seaside areas Elena Espinosa, the International Food Forum will look at the attributes of brands, consumer demands and manufacturer responsiveness to consumer demands.
Alimentaria 2010 will take place on 22-26 March at Fira de Barcelona's Grand Via venue, bringing together around 150,000 professionals from 4,000 companies, across 94,500m2 of exhibition space.
