France-based fresh-cut vegetable producer Bonduelle yesterday announced its intention to sell one of its fruit-producing sites to Belgian company Scana Noliko, in order to concentrate on its core business.
The fruit factory, which is located in Rijkevorsel, in the Belgian province of Antwerp, was purchased by Bonduelle, along with two others, during the acquisition of La Corbeille in 2008.
However, in a statement, the company explained that branching out into the “very different” business of fruit would require too many investments to make it work.
The final decision will reportedly take place on 14 December, with the deal being completed on 1 February 2010.
