Bonduelle has revealed that it has expanded its fresh-cut and washed salad plant at Straelen in Germany, following a €6m investment.
First opened in 2003, the plant has undergone seven months of refurbishing, boosting production capacity from 6, 500 tonnes to 10,000 tonnes of salad.
According to Bonduelle, the plant will now produce up to 50m packaged salads per year from 2014, with the site covering a surface area of 9,000m2 and employing 200 people.
'Bonduelle can now count on an ultra-efficient production tool that will strenghthen its leadership position in the German market, both for the Bonduelle brand and retail brands,' the group noted.
