Deal marks a new direction for Bollo and reflects growing consumer demand for healthy, convenient products

Bollo Natural Fruit has acquired Granada-based fresh-cut fruit specialist Cortijo Cuevas. Bollo said the move marks a new step in its expansion strategy, positioning it in the ready-to-eat sliced and packaged fruit segment. It also adds a new fruit to the company’s portfolio: pineapple.

Bollo Natural Fruit and its private equity backers, Fremman Capital, are pursuing a strategy to consolidate a more integrated and global business model. They said Cortijo Cuevas’ specialization in fresh-cut fruit processing complements Bollo’s offering, generating synergies that will improve logistics efficiency, traceability, and responsiveness in a constantly evolving sector.

Cortijo Cuevas’s integration into Bollo completes a process begun in 2020, when it was acquired by investment firm Goros, undergoing a process of modernisation to optimise its supply chain and strengthen its position in the fresh-cut range.

Bollo cited the growing trends for convenience and health as a major driver of the acquisition.

CEO Antonio Alarcón commented: “this acquisition is a key step in our growth strategy. Cortijo Cuevas is a natural fit for Bollo Natural Fruit, as it complements our offering with its expertise in fruits such as pineapple and its specialisation in fresh-cut products.

“We are confident that this integration will allow us to accelerate our growth and offer consumers added value through a segment in which, while mastery of raw materials is important, mastery of processes is no less so”.

Marcos Tarancón, CEO of Cortijo Cuevas, said: “Joining a group of the size and reputation of Bollo Natural Fruit represents a great opportunity. We are very happy to become part of an organization with which we share the same vision of quality, innovation, and sustainability”.
