Company acquires breeding programme of Peru’s Inka’s Berries, a pioneer in no-chill blueberry varieties

Bloom Fresh has expanded its breeding portfolio with the acquisition of the Inka’s Berries blueberry breeding programme. Inka’s Berries is the Peruvian firm behind the Abril Blue+ and Alessia Blue+ varieties. It has an extensive pipeline of new, no-chill blueberry selections adapted to diverse growing conditions that are already making inroads in South America, Europe and Africa.

Bloom Fresh said the deal would allow it leverage its global scale in table grapes and cherries breeding to expand on this market growth and unlock the potential of these varieties worldwide.
