The Port of Los Angeles has released its April 2014 containerised cargo volumes, showing that overall volumes increased 10.26 per cent when compared with the same month last year.
Total cargo for April was 706,036 TEUs, the Port’s busiest month since September 2013.
Container imports rose 11.43 per cent, from 486,910 TEUs to 537,071 TEUs in April 2014, while exports increased 8 per cent to 172,945 TEUs.
Combined, total loaded imports and exports increased 10.30 per cent, from 486,910 TEUsto 537,071 TEUs.
Empties increased 10.13 per cent year-over-year.
