BFV

A deal to merge Belgian auctions Belgische Fruitveiling (BFV) and Profruco has been sealed, according to Fruchthandel Magazine.

With this merger, BFV now boasts five sites in Belgium, as well as more than 1,500 members, further strengthening its position as the Belgian market leader for fruit.

Filip Lowette will reportedly remain general manager, while Marc Evrard will be responsible for the auction’s commercial concerns.

The principal aims of the merger are to improve the market position of members, optimise cost efficiencies and increase access to new markets.
