French association Les Belles Salades de Provence is set to launch a new premium range of salads for the upcoming winter season, according to Fld.
Co-president Rémy Roux said that the launch would be made in co-ordination with its GlobalGAP-certified members and those that follow its quality specifications.
The new range will accord to a new, stricter set of requirements, the report revealed, particularly with regard to product analyses and traceability.
'What we want is to have a top-of-range segment for Belles Salades de Provence salads,' said Roux.
The brand will be present on the packaging or the head, while the price will be fixed by the association's members twice a week.
'The group will process and centralise the payments,' said Roux. 'This way, we will be able to ensure that weekly prices are respected. The aim is to better value our products.'
According to Fld, around 40 producers are currently involved in this new premium range.
