Crop protection specialist Bayer CropScience (BCS) has announced that it has acquired assets and technology related to biological development products from Israel-based group Agrogreen.
According to BCS, the move will allow the group to expand its range of crop protection solutions with biocontrol agents, providing growth opportunities in the seed treatment market and adding value for customers.
'Bayer CropScience is very well positioned in its core crop protection business,' said management board member Rüdiger Scheitza. 'With this acquisition, we have further strengthened our portfolio with innovative and unique crop protection solutions to help safeguard harvests and increase yields.'
The assets acquired include products under the BioNem brand, according to a statement.
'It is exciting to see this biological technology and the products developed by Minrav (the parent group of Agrogreen) being acquired by Bayer CropScience,' said Minrav chairman Avraham Kuznitski. 'We are convinced that our technology will be an excellent fit with Bayer CropScience's portfolio.'
