Plant development organisation Bayer CropScience has revealed that it is partnering with the United Fresh Foundation to support the Let's Move Salad Bars to School scheme in the US.
As part of the initiative, which aims to increase the fruit and vegetable consumption of children, Bayer plans to donate ten salad bars to schools in Florida, California and the Pacific Northwest, The Produce News reported.
The group will also donate an eleventh salad bar to another school through a social media campaign titled Give A Salad Bar, the group said.
Bayer said that it hopes to foster relationships between local growers and at the participating schools to help educate children on fresh produce.
