Key Technology has unveiled its newly redesigned Basket Wash, one of the smallest semi-automatic washers for fresh-cut produce available on the market.
The US-based process automation system designer's Basket Wash includes new pass-through configuration, a larger pump and motor than old models and can hold 550l of water in its sanitary tank, the group said.
A variety of fresh-cut produce can be used with the machinery, according to Key Tech, including whole, sliced or diced vegetables such as carrots, onions and peppers, as well as whole and cut fruit and herbs.
The equipment's dual-basket wash is 18.61cm in length and 20.22 cm wide, and flushes baskets of produce with up to 664l of water per minute.
'Key is committed to serving the fresh-cut industry worldwide, from the smallest processors looking for semi-automated equipment to the largest processors looking for fully-automated high speed technology,' said fresh-cut industry manager Teri Johnson. 'Redesigning our popular basket wash is a part of our ongoing effort to help fresh-cut produce processors of all sizes enhance their product quality and food safety while improving their operating efficiencies and cutting costs.'
