Auchan Magyarorszag, the Hungarian operation of French retailer Auchan, has reported that revenue increased by 6 per cent to hit €875.7m for fiscal year 2008.
Group chief executive officer Jean-Paul Filliat told a press conference that the increase was in line with targets set out by the company, with growth slightly ahead of the 5.6 per cent seen the previous year.
Over 32m shoppers visited the group's 11 stores during the year, according to the report, with the number of products sold growing to just under 780m.
According to Mr Filliat, the group had seen changes in consumer habits during the period, with shoppers targeting smaller products and sales items, and doing so in smaller quantities.
Auchan opened its twelfth store in Hungary earlier this year.
