Vincent Mignot, managing director of French retailer Auchan, this week revealed plans to launch a brand-new concept exclusively dedicated to fresh produce, according to French magazine LSA.
The new store concept is referred to internally as 'Multifrais' and is set to be rolled out this year, Mignot said.
The first such store will reportedly open in March in the Paris area and will be, Mignot stated, 'unlike anything that currently exists', whether at Auchan or its competitors.
In addition, Auchan is planning to develop two new hypermarkets in 2013, in Epinay and Roissy.
