Auchan, the world's eleventh-largest food retailer, has announced that it has been forced to close its DragonMart hypermarket in Dubai, which was first opened in 2009.
According to the French retailer, the closure was the result of the poor economic climate, although the decision will have no impact on Auchan's accounts.
The hypermarket was launched as part of a venture with Retailcorp, which is part of the state-controlled Dubai World in the United Arab Emirates.
