The restructuring of one of Europe's largest fresh produce marketers, Dutch group The Greenery, has reportedly entered a new phase with the establishment of new business units and a clearer separation of the company's sales and procurement activities.
According to AGF.nl, which broke the story, interim managing director Okke Koo and chief financial officer Albert Knol have overseen the establishment by Greenery management of four divisions: retail, trade, supply chain/logistics and sourcing.
The reorganisation means that sales to retail and trade will no longer be carried out by one department, but instead managed by two independent teams led by Cindy van der Velde and Steven Martina respectively.
For the past couple of years, Van der Velde has been in charge of The Greenery's Benelux operation, while Steven Martina has spent the last two years managing its product unit for soft fruit.
Elsewhere, product manager Wim van der Wiel takes on responsibility for the company's sourcing operation, while Edwin Poldervaart continues as head of logistics.
