Direct cargo flights carrying Argentine blueberries from the Tucuman province to the US are expected to more than double this year, according to TV and press reports.
Freshfruitportal.com website said airline Lan Cargo had budgeted for 50 non-stop air-freight flights between Tucuman and Miami this year, up from 22 last year.
Tucuman province is gearing up to be a northern Argentina air-cargo hub by investing in specialised customs, the report said, and aims to attract additional cargo, other than blueberries, throughout the year.
