The Argentinean National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) has elected Carlos Paz as its chairman of the board of directors to replace Carlos Cheppi who has been appointed as Argentina’s new Minister of Agriculture.
Mr Paz, formerly sub-secretary of the Argentinean Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery, was officially appointed last week.
Present at the ceremony, Mr Cheppi said the appointment of Mr Paz represents a positive step forward for the future of INTA.
Mr Paz, meanwhile, pledged to consolidate the progress made so far and to continue working side-by-side with the relevant ministries, organizations and regional bodies across Argentina.
Since graduating in agricultural engineering from the University Nacional de la Plata in 1976, Mr Paz has held a number of important positions within the Argentinean agricultural industry.
