Extraberries and Citrusvil were named the winners in the fruit and vegetable category in the first ever Aliment.AR Awards, which celebrate excellence in Argentina’s agrifood export industry.
A total of 14 companies were lauded at a ceremony attended by the Minister of Production and Labour, Dante Sica, and directors from leading companies and SMEs.
Organised by Banco Galicia and Exponenciar, a company belonging to Grupo Clarín and La Nación newspaper, and sponsored by the government and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the awards seek to shine a spotlight on Argentina’s role as the ‘supermarket of the world’.
“These awards recognise the effort and achievements of Argentine companies who place their products in various markets around the world,” said Martin Schvartzman, director of Exponenciar.
“They aim to stimulate the potential that our country has to supply the world with products….which reflect what we are, to a market of more than 600m people.”
