Israeli group Arava Export Growers is preparing for its upcoming table grape campaign, which begins in May and will see some 1,000 tonnes of the Early Sweet variety sent to export markets.
The company, one of the country's most prominent exporters, is looking to build on a positive campaign in 2012 with larger volumes, while also targeting new markets in Asia and the UK.
'The success we experienced last year with grapes has encouraged us to increase volumes and aim for further markets,' the group's sales manager Omer Kamp tells Eurofruit. 'It helps that at the moment demand for top-quality grapes is fairly high this year.
'For the most part we would consider western European markets and eastern European markets as the most active ones, Russia and the Netherlands in particular,' he adds. 'However, this year attempts are being made to further expand our operations in the Far East and the UK.'
A full report will be published in the May issue of Eurofruit.
