The US Apple Association has announced the appointment of three board members, with two elected for the first time, and all of whom are respected leaders in the Michigan apple industry.
According to The Packer, Dennis Donohue of the Michigan Apple Committee has been elected to the board for the first time, and will serve on the board's education committee.
Fred Leitz, a partner in Leitz Farms and the eastern vice-president of the National Council of Agricultural employers, has also been elected for the first time.
Meanwhile, Julia Rothwell of Belding Fruit Storage has been re-elected having served on the board since 2002. Ms Rothwell has also been elected as chairwoman of the association and chairwoman of the public affairs committee.
