The management at APM Terminals is due to meet with dock unions on Wednesday to try and resolve a strike at APM’s container terminal in Rotterdam causing disruption to services at the port. The walkout, which began on Monday, is over working practices at a new terminal at the Netherlands facility.
APM said it was doing all it can to limit the effects on its operation, but warned that delays were likely to continue all week. Shipping lines including Maersk and OOCL have already been forced to divert a number of inbound vessels to Antwerp as a result of the action.
