Jon Durham has announced he is stepping down from his role as managing director of Apple and Pear Australia Limited (APAL).
The former APAL chairman has worked with the peak industry body, and its predecessor Australian Apple and Pear Growers Association, for more than 20 years.
Durham cited a desire to pursue other interests as the reason behind his departure.
Durham's resignation is effective 30 September this year.
APAL chairman John Lawrenson said Durham was leaving the board in a strong position.
“We are fortunate to have eight months notice of Jon’s departure,” Lawrenson said.
“This will give the APAL Board adequate time to conduct a widespread search for his replacement.
“Jon will leave APAL well resourced and in good shape.”
