The Antwerp Port Authority has announced the expansion of its presence in South America with the appointment of three new representatives.
Fernando Bustamente and German Calderon will be based in Chile, and supported by Henrique Machado Rabelo in Brazil.
Together, the trio will raise the profile and awareness of the Port of Antwerp throughout South America, as well as work to strengthen existing contacts, according to the group.
“Each of the new representatives will exploit his own niche, network and specialisation, creating closer links with manufacturers (shippers) and the shipping world (shipping companies and ports),” the organisation said.
In line with the Antwerp Port Authority’s development policy, the three representatives will also emphasise the three sectors in which Antwerp plays a leading role – namely forestry products, fruit and steel, as well as the biotechnology sector.
