From its strategic location in Lipence market, it will manage the distribution of goods to mainly Czech, Slovak and Hungarian customers
Anecoop’s Czech subsidiary, Anecoop Prague, has opened a new facility at the Lipence market, the epicentre of wholesale fresh fruit and vegetables in the Czech Republic and a strategic location for supplying Eastern European countries. The centre was officially inaugurated at the end of July, as part of the group’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
Founded in 1999, Anecoop Prague moved to the Lipence market in 2010. It subsequently acquired and refurbished this second warehouse at the market, which will serve as a loading, unloading, quality control, sorting, labelling and storage centre for goods going mainly to Czech, Slovak and Hungarian customers is handled from there.
Lipence is a transshipment platform for 55 per cent of the trucks transporting fresh fruit and vegetables to the region.
The inauguration, which was attended by Anecoop’s Board of Directors and Management Committee, as well as the professional team of Anecoop Prague, was attended by officials including the Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Spain in Prague, Jaime Alcaide; the mayor of Prague 16, Karel Hanzlik, and the mayors of Zbraslav, Katerina Pavliková, and of Lipence, Lenka Kadlecová; the director of the Lipence market, Alois Lukes; and clients and partners with whom the subsidiary maintains a close professional relationship.
Alejandro Monzón, president of Anecoop, said the opening “represents a new boost for our logistics and service capacity in this important area of activity” and expressed his gratitude to the 27 professionals who make up the Anecoop Praha team for their involvement and motivation.
The director of the subsidiary, Ferran Cabrera, commented: “This inauguration is another step in the commitment of our team in the Czech Republic, which since 1999 has contributed to expanding the commercial radius of our partners and consequently to promoting the internationalization of the Anecoop Group”.
