Spanish fresh produce marketing organisation Anecoop has announced that Joan Mir Piqueras has been appointed as its new director general to replace the outgoing José María Planells.
Mr Mir, the group’s director of marketing and strategy whose appointment was unanimously backed by Anecoop’s governing council, will take up his new position after Mr Planells retires on 31 December.
Anecoop said in a statement that its outgoing director general had guided the group’s expansion over the past 34 years, during which time it has become one of the leading fresh produce companies in Spain, with offices in France, Russia, the UK, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
