Aldi has restructured its senior management team in the US to support its ongoing expansion in the country and internationally. From 1 April 2015 Jason Hart, who currently serves as president for Aldi US, will take over the new role of CEO for Aldi US. He will be supported by Chuck Youngstrom and David Behm, who will continue in their current roles of co-presidents.
The retailer is in the early stages of an accelerated strategic growth plan in the US. “Rising demand is fuelling significant expansion as growing numbers of smart shoppers are discovering that they can save time and money at Aldi without sacrificing quality,” the company said in a statement.
Aldi plans to open 650 new stores across the country, expanding into Southern California, bringing its total number of US stores to nearly 2,000 by the end of 2018. The expansion is expected to create more than 10,000 new jobs in stores, warehouses and division offices across the country.
Aldi currently operates more than 1,300 US stores in 32 states, primarily from Kansas to the East Coast.
