German hard discounter Aldi Nord has started to test re-usable cratesfor fruit and vegetables developed by Euro Pool System, according to Lebensmittel Zeitung and reported by Planet Retail.
For its operations in Belgium, the company already usesthe boxes while in Germany Aldi Süd launched its own pooling system in 2010.
The discounter replaced disposable cardboard boxes with the new crates which are tailored to Aldi Süd’s requirements.
