Company’s general manager Felipe Venegas provides new-season update and predicts recovery from last year’s smaller crop
Blueberry marketer Agrovision is preparing to produce its largest ever crop in Peru, the company’s general manager Felipe Venegas has told Gestion.
According to the report, the company now has more than 2,200ha of production in the country and this season aims to turn out around 33,000 tonnes of blueberry varieties including Sekoya Pop, Sekoya Beauty and BiancaBlue.
“After 2022 we recorded 18,000 tonnes of blueberries, but last year there was a drop to less than 14,000 tonnes,” Venegas told the newspaper. “However, the current campaign is going well.”
Agrovision recently secured US$100m in funding that is expected to fuel its worldwide berry expansion through an expansion of its production and distribution networks, as well as new product development and marketing.
In 2024 alone, the group has established new production areas in Romania, Thailand, Egypt, Indonesia, and Yunnan, China.
