The company has enjoyed its best-ever start in the 2024/25 campaign
Spain’s Agroponiente Group says it has started the 2024/25 season on an even higher growth trajectory than last year. Two and a half months into the new campaign, volume growth stands at 18 per cent, surpassing the 13 per cent of the previous campaign. This putting the company on a path to reach annual sales of 380,000 tonnes and a turnover of €400mn.
“We continue to consolidate our business model which is giving tremendously positive results in all aspects, given that the good general start to the season has also led to notable growth in turnover, exceeding last season’s figures by 28 per cent,” the company said.
Annual growth has increased from 3 per cent three years ago, to 7 per cent the following year and 13 per cent in 2023/24. Agroponiente said the improvement is due to good productive momentum on its farms, and new members joining the group because of its strong performance.
CEO Imanol Almudí said: “The very positive results we are achieving this season reflect the company’s good momentum in the sector, the recognition we are getting from the business for a job well done and consistency over time.
“With values and ways of doing things that generate solvency and ensure a very good return for all the agents involved in the project, from the growers to the company’s own employees, including our suppliers and clients, and therefore involving both the institutions and Almeria society as a whole, which is grateful that at the moment there is an exciting project in the agricultural sector, which is fighting tooth and nail to become a European vegetable champion based in Almeria”.
