French agricultural cooperative Agrial has announced that it is forging a partnership with Quebec-based vegetable processing company Saladexpress Inc as it looks to target the North American market.
Bertrand Totel, Agrial’s executive vice-president responsible for the Fresh Produce Division, commented: 'Joining forces with a local leader will form the basis of a partnership which will be mutually beneficial. We will be encouraging the expansion of a Quebec-based firm and accessing a geographical region targeted by the Agrial Horizon 2025 strategy.”
'We are now setting the milestones for our growth,” added Sylvain Racette, CEO of Saladexpress. “It will require investments seeking to increase our factory productivity and help us maintain or even increase our workforce.'
Saladexpress currently employs 120 people at its Saint-Rémi site.
The partnership further strengthens Agrial's global position, adding to its other well known brands, Florette for ready-to-use fresh fruit and vegetables, Priméale for fresh fruit and vegetables requiring preparation, and Créaline for fresh purées and soups.
