Zespri’s Ben Hughes has moved exclusively into the role of regional market manager – the Americas with the kiwifruit marketer.
Hughes previously served as Zespri’s regional manager for the Americas, the Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent. His new role will cover North, Central and South America.
Hughes will work out of Zespri’s new Orange County office in California, which was opened earlier this year to support Zespri’s growth in North America.
“Ben will help support customers and distributors in the next step in the company’s expansion, which includes hiring more staff within the region,” Zespri said in a release.
North America is one of Zespri’s top strategic markets, accounting for around 5 per cent of global sales this year. The company’s strategy is to keep demand ahead of supply, as awareness for its SunGold offering grows.
The recruitment process for Hughes’ successor for the MEOIA (Middle East, Oceania, India and Africa) role is still underway.
