Wonderful Citrus welcomes Ventura Pacific Company as the newest member of our Wonderful Citrus grower community. Ventura Pacific is a cooperative of passionate and dedicated citrus growers primarily focused on their 6,000 acres of lemons located in key growing regions throughout California. Committed to quality and service, Ventura Pacific operates a 220,000-square-foot state-of-the-art packing facility with an additional 70,000 square feet of storage space and offers year-round supply. This partnership between Wonderful Citrus and Ventura Pacific will more than double Wonderful’s conventional lemon supply, making Wonderful Citrus the premier independent lemon packer in the industry.
After the agreement was finalized, Zak Laffite, president of Wonderful Citrus, commented, “There are many ways for Wonderful Citrus to achieve our goals of measured, profitable growth.In some cases, that comes in the form of operational improvements or new business development. Wonderful’s citrus can be found in the produce department of grocery stores both domestically and abroad under the flagship consumer brands such as Wonderful Halos Mandarins, Wonderful Seedless Lemons, Wonderful Sweet Scarletts Grapefruit, and Paramount Citrus.
This incremental volume from the partnership with Ventura Pacific will elevate Wonderful’s lemon category leadership and complement our rapidly growing seedless lemon portfolio. With the increase in supply, the arrangement enables Wonderful to expand its reach into both food service and new export channels, making Wonderful Citrus the go-to lemon supplier in North America.
