The company is inviting nomination from farmers across different states to acknowledge and reward innovations in Indian agriculture
WayCool Foods has launched an awards programme to recognise natural and regenerative farming initiatives and farming innovation in the Indian agricultural sector.
The Outgrow Kisan Pragati Awards aim to identify and shine and spotlight on tech-led innovations in the field of agriculture and offer a platform for farmers to showcase their exceptional farming practices.
They are named after WayCool’s Outgrow app, which it describes as India’s first AI-based farmer engagement and real time advisory platform.
WayCool is inviting nominations from farmers across the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra for the inaugural awards. Companies have until 5 August to submit their entry and the winners will be announced on 25 August.
Sendhil Kumar, WayCool’s head of Outgrow and farmer engagement, commented: “We are launching this award as a thank you to farmers, who are an integral part of the food chain ecosystem.
“It has been launched to shine light on the hard work and dedication of the farming community in our country.
“We want to celebrate their achievements and bring to the foray some of the best farming practices with tech interventions. We look forward to working with farmers closely and offer them support on all fronts.”
The awards are split into three categories: natural farming initiatives, farming innovations and women farmer entrepreneurs.
Interested participants should send WayCool a short video capturing the innovative farming practices adopted along with a voice explaining why they think they’re eligible for the award.
