Global retail giant Walmart has signalled its commitment to China announcing plans last week to open 100 additional stores there over the next three years.
The retailer, which currently operates 370 stores and employs over 100,000 people in China, is pushing on with expansion plans despite facing stiff competition from the likes of Tesco, Metro, and Carrefour, as well as domestic retailers, according to a Reuters report.
A slow down in the Chinese economy is also making conditions difficult for the retailer.
