Walmart China

Walmart China chief merchandising officer Joe Zhou will vacate the positions after just six months.

A Walmart spokesperson told the Just-Food website Zhou was leaving for personal reasons and the division’s COO Sean Clarke would take over his duties until a replacement was found.

The past year has seen a significant shakeup amongst Walmart China’s top-level management with president and CEO Ed Chan leaving in October of last year. His departure was preceded by the resignation of vice president of Walmart’s hypermarket operations, Shawn Grey, and by the decision a month earlier of COO Rob Cissell and CFO Roland Lawrence to leave the business.

Greg Foran was appointed president and CEO of the groups China division in February of this year.
