The group said the investment would boost its ranking as a fresh produce exporter and help it to reach a larger customer base worldwide.

Plans for the new acreage are reportedly underway, with plantings of table grapes focused on the “most desirable varieties”, according to Vanguard. The group said the latest investment would also contribute to the growth and prosperity of neighbouring communities.

“This will generate more work, more opportunities, more career path options, contributing to the decentralisation of Peru, and operating with a focus on excellence,” said Manuel Yzaga, CEO of Vanguard Group International.
