Melbourne-based importer-distributor Valleyfresh is to set to establish a presence in Sydney on 1 June when it takes on the lease on a warehouse operation there.
Based in Homebush, near Sydney Markets, the warehouse will provide Valleyfresh with a purpose-built facility in New South Wales to handle imported fruits as well as offer third party services, according to director Garth Lockyer.
“The specialised facility will have the capacity to ripen and store considerable volumes of fresh produce,” he told Produce Plus.
One of Australia’s leading importers, Valleyfresh already runs a large-scale distribution and prepacking operation in Derrimut, Melbourne, from which it supplies the country’s major retailers.
