Durian

The combined value of Thailand’s fresh, frozen and dried produce exports rose 4.4 per cent to US$3.7bn in 2015, Shanghai Daily has reported.

Citing data from Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion, the report suggested exports across the categories measured 1.6m tonnes, with China, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Japan among the largest destinations.

The value of shipments to Laos increased 166 per cent, while trade into Myanmar and Iran increased 66 per cent and 63 per cent respectively.

Durian was again one of the key exports for the South East Asian nation, generating close to US$4m in sales, while longan, mangosteen and sweet corn was also popular.
