Fresh fruit and vegetables will be made available to Tesco’s Shanghai customers at the click of a button, after the retail giant announced plans to launch its online store in the Chinese city.

All products will be dispatched and delivered by the UK-based retailer's existing stores in the city, with the service available to customers residing within Shanghai’s Inner Ring Road, according to the Global Times.

Three-cabin trucks fitted with temperature control will be used to ensure packed orders remain fresh.

Tesco currently operates its online stores in 10 countries, with further expansion into China’s growing digital market expected.
