New website and brand identity to promote Australian state’s fresh fruit and vegetables
An always-on platform will showcase Tasmania’s fresh produce offing to customers and consumers around the world.
Launched at Asia Fruit Logistica today (2 November), the Tasmanian Grown website and brand identity is the brainchild of peak body Fruit Growers Tasmania, with support from industry and the state’s government.
“Tasmanian Grown is a digital showcase of Tasmanian fruit, vegetables and nuts aimed at potential buyers of our produce around the globe,” said Fruit Growers Tasmania chief executive Peter Cornish. “We couldn’t think of a more fitting event than Asia Fruit Logistica to launch this initiative.”
Cornish said Tasmanian cherries, apples, onions and carrots already have strong international market recognition. The digital platform aims to leverage that success and broaden the benefit across the state’s horticulture industry.
“Buyers of Tasmanian cherries are often asking us what else is available from Tasmania? This website will showcase the fresh food that we grow, when it is available and how to buy it. Importantly, it will give us a digital presence all day, every day” Cornish said.
“It is a great example of Tasmania’s leading fruit, vegetable and nut growers working together, with the tremendous support of the Australian and Tasmanian governments, the Tasmanian Fruit and Vegetable Export Facilitation Group and Fruit Growers Tasmania.”
Terry Brient, chairperson of the Tasmanian Export Facilitation Group, said the new platform had strong industry support.
“Our group is happy to be involved and it just makes sense to work together on this promotional showcase to ensure that we maximize the benefits for growers across our State,” Brient explained. “We welcome the opportunity to keep adding to the information and share more grower stories in the coming months.”
To celebrate the launch of Tasmanian Grown, Fruit Growers Tasmania is running a competition for buyers who register interest in purchasing produce via the platform. Buyers can enter by adding their details under the ‘Looking to Buy’ tab on the website. They must do so by 5pm on Friday 4 November. The winner will receive a bottle of Lark Distillery 2021 limited edition, single malt whisky.
