Taiwan’s mango exports have increased 107 per cent to 3,607 tonnes in the first six months of 2015 compared to the same period last year, according to the Taiwan Council of Agriculture.
In terms of value, exports grew 135 per cent to Twd$400m (US$12.86m), Lin Li-fang, deputy director general of the Taiwan Agriculture and Food Agency told Focus Taiwan.
The growth in exports is driven by an increase in demand from South Korea and China, Lin said, with total mango exports looking to reach 10,000 tonne this year, compared to 6,000 tonnes of exported mango in 2014.
