Taiwan’s Council of Agriculture (COA) has moved to stablise vegetable prices and halt cabbage overproduction in the country by hoeing excess crops, reported the China Post.
The newspaper said ideal growing conditions for the vegetable has lead to an oversupply in the markets and prices have dropped to less than NT$5 per kg.
The COA has taken to hoeing all farmland producing cabbages and bok choy between 2 March and 8 March to help improve prices for the products.
