Sun World International has announced Moonlight Sales Corporation as its newest licensee, fitting with the company’s strategy to bolster its stonefruit breeding programme, while expanding its presence in its home state of California.
Moonlight joins three other Californian licensees and 22 companies worldwide who comprise Sun World’s stonefruit licensing network.In addition to distributing new Sun World varieties, Moonlight has been awarded a license to use established Sun World brands, including Black Dimond, Honeycot and Super Star.
Based in Reedly, Moonlight is a vertically integrated company, owned by brother Russ and Ty Tavlan. It specialises in product branding and retail merchandising strategies, with a focus on peaches, plums, nectarines and apricots in the summer. It also grows, packs and markets oranges, lemons, mandarins and pomegranates.
