APL Logistics and Japan’s Sumitomo Warehouse Co have signed an agreement to jointly provide logistics services.
Singapore-based APL Logistics, part of shipper Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), will provide global logistics services to Sumitomo customers, while Sumitomo will provide warehousing and other services to APL customers in Japan.
The agreement will see the two companies market their services jointly and offer discounts to clients, reported Logistics Week.
“We’re delighted with this alliance because it dramatically strengthens the capabilities of both organisations,” said APL Logistics president Jim McAdam. “What’s more, it permits us to support each other through business leads and joint sales efforts with a broad international client base.”
“Our aim is to optimise our customers’ total supply chain,” said Sumitomo’s president Shoichi Abbe. “Through this alliance we can better provide them logistics strategies and efficient logistics services from a global perspective.”
