Prime Harvest has appointed Jim Stewart as vice president of sales.
Stewart brings more than 30 years experience in the fresh produce industry to the Californian-based company, having previously served as the president and sales manager at WesPak.
“I am looking forward to applying my skills to a fresh set of challenges with Prime Harvest,” Stewart said.
“The growth opportunities in front of this business are pretty exciting to consider.”
Stewart joins Prime Harvest at a time of major expansion for the company.
The Californian arm of the Freshmax Group is focused on exporting to Canada, Asia, and the Middle East, whilst providing opportunities for the group’s New Zealand and Australian export programs.
With a substantial presence in table grapes, Prime Harvest is also aiming to grow its footprint in the tree fruit and cherry categories.
Freshmax Group’s general manager of global development, Simon Gillett, said Stewart would play a crucial role in shaping the company’s future.
“His expertise and reputation is difficult to match,” Gillett said.
“We expect the business to expand quickly from here, especially as we tap into opportunities within the wider Freshmax network.”
