Reefer chartering company Seatrade has announced it will open an office in Shanghai as part of a strategy to expand its diversified future activities in the Asian markets.

According to a media release form the company, the Shanghai office will be its first to open in China and will serve to develop new business in the region with a focus on refrigerated services for fruit and frozen imports into and exports out of China.

The company will work with sub agents at ports around China to attend vessel calls.

The media release stated the Shanghai office would be part of the company’s global network of offices located in areas of significance to the perishable trade.

Seatrade operates a fleet of around 120 specialised reefer vessels and is involved in all major perishable trades world-wide.
